The surname Reding prpbably comes from the place Redingen.

By the way, the National Archives have parrish books of the 18th century, so it is possible to find more about the ancestors of Nicolas Reding (this year, however, National Archives of Luxembourg are closed for the public until september, these Parrish Books are not yet online at Familysearch).

Best regards,
Claude Vanolst
