Peter Steg seeking origin
Posted by: Cassandra Hanson (ID *****6752) Date: March 11, 2013 at 10:06:31

Peter Steg was born 4 February 1851 in Luxembourg and emigrated from there in 1871 age 21 (from Liverpool Ship "China" July 1872). I am seeking his origins. Does anyone have an idea where the family name comes from or a way to at least reduce my search grid? He came to Minnesota where there are at least two other Luxembourg families to whom I relate. One came from Wormeldange (Hirt) and one from Rosport (Schabert/Schapert). These other families have been well-researched but the Steg origins remain elusive. Thank you for any ideas. Cassandra
