Theodore Birnbaum seems to have left Rameldange before 1871, as he does not figure in the census of that year. Margaretha Hansen, the mother of Theodore Birnbaum, died January 22nd 1864, at 8 a.m., in Rameldange. Johann Birnbaum, the father of Theodore Birnbaum, died February 1st 1876, at 1 p.m., in Rameldange. The first ancestor who appears in a Parrish Book is Henri Bierenbaum. He was baptized July 31st 1742 in the Parrish of Flaxweiler. His parents were Magdalena and Joannes Bierenbaum from Mensdorf (Flaxweiler). His godmother was Catharina Schiltz from Mensdorf, his godfather was Henri Huver from Mensdorf. He had two sisters, Anna Bierenbaum, who was baptized November 22nd 1738 in Parrish of Flaxweiler (her godmother was Anna Schiltz from Mensdorf, her godfather was Joannes Ronck from Mensdorf), and Margaretha Bierenbaum, who was baptized July 17th 1744 in the Parrish of Flaxweiler (her godmother was Margaretha Schmitt from Mensdorf, her godfather was Franciscus Godula from Mensdorf). Henri Bierenbaum (from Mensdorf) married Susanna Sibenaler (from Greiveldange) January 18th 1774 in Lennange. Henri Bierenbaum (widower of Susanna Sibenaler) married Agnes Speicher (from Canach) netween May 28th and December 27th 1786 in Lennange. The parents of Agnes Speicher were Joannes Speicher and Anna Catharina Zeymet. Here is the text which certifies the baptism of Henri Birnbaum (1742): 31 julii pres. die, natus, baptizatus est henricus bierenbaum filius legitimus jois et magdalena bierenbaum conjugum in mensdorf susceptoribus henricus huver et catharina schiltz ambobus ex mensdorf.
