I am looking for any information on the Schmidts of Grevenmacher, Luxembourg. My great-grandfather was Nicholas Schmidt. Family tradition says his father was the Burgermeister of the town and that the family owned a winery on a hill overlooking the Mosel River. He had a brother, name unkown, who supposedly immigrated to South America.
