I am researching the Luxembourg background of two young men who came to central Minnesota in about 1881. I think they may be brothers or cousins. Both became medical doctors.
Fred/Ferd HILBERT was born Augist 1863 in Luxembourg. He married in the USA with a woman named Elise/Elizabeth. The marriage was before 1894. They had two daughters, Hortense born in 1894 and Eunice born in 1901 in Stearns County, Minnesota. Fred/Ferd was a medical doctor in Albany, Minnesota for several years. In the 1910 census his wife, Elise, is listed as a widow. I am still trying to find out more information on this man.
Pierre HILBERT was born about 1865 in Luxembourg; he came to the USA in 1881 according to his obituary. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1893. He also served in the Minnesota State Senate. He was one of the founders of the Melrose, Minnesota hospital. Pierre died 23 Sept. 1921 at St. Paul, Minnesota. His wife was Agnes Borgerding of Stearns County, Minn. He had two daughters.
Can anyone help me find the home villages of these two men?
