I am looking for information on the birthplace of Peter Henry/Pierre Henri SCHOMER. In a short biography from the History of the Upper Mississippi Valley (1881), it says: "he was born on the 24th of July, 1849 in Luxemburg, Holland, where he lived and attended school until he was 18 years of age. Mr. Schomer is a graduate of Luxemburg college, both of the collegiate and commercial departments. He graduated in 1866, going the same year to a college at Bristol, England, from which institution he graduated as a Professor of languages. In 1868 he came to America, finding his way to Dakota County, Minnesota, and was engaged in teaching school in that and Ramsey counties for the next six years. He came to Stearns County, Minnesota in 1874, and with the exception of one year's absence in the South, he taught school here ever since. During his southern trip, his family suffered from Yellow Fever at Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was married in 1876 to Miss Katie (Catherine) Fuchs." [at the time of this writing, he was teaching school in Lake Henry, Minnesota, and he had 4 children.]

P. H. Schomer taught in various schools in Stearns Cuonty until his death in 1896. At that time he had 6 living children. One child, a son Herman, was born after P. H. Schomer's death.

Mr. Schomer was also an agent for Kimball and Star Parlor and Church Organs. He also sold school books in the German language.

Does anyone know where he was born in Luxembourg?
