I have confidence in the location of Hüttermühle because it agrees with the other documented information that I have received. Hüttermühle is located east of Greiveldange and on the Mosel river. Some of my distant relatives are still involved in the wine business in the area.

I was a little concerned about the middle names since all of Frederick's siblings did not appear to have a middle name except for his youngest sister. His father, mother and most other ancestors did have "middle" names, but that could have been from the early German naming practices of using 4 names where the first name may have been "temporary"/religious and dropped in later records.

I am guessing he was born as a Catholic because the names of ancestors seemed to be French (Catholoc?) instead of German.

Because he was so interesting and I have so much information on his activities and residences in the U.S. starting 5 years after emmigration in about 1862, I am trying to fill in the information on the earlier family.
