I have 2 old (1890-1905) photos from the Greiveldingen area. The first is postcard with a photo of Cafe Henri Kirch and another photo of the country area. The photo eas taken by E. Kraemer of Mondorf. There are 5 people in front of the Cafe Henri Kirch. The hand writing on the card refers to the following people: G. P. Sibenaler Kath. Schumacher Pierre Sibenaler Helene Kirch There is also a line of hand writing that appears to be about "Der Kleinen Jemps?" Another line has a reference to a "Madame Thill?" - Please forgive my interpretation of the hand written portion. The second photo appears to be a formal photograph of three couples. It apparently was sent 0n 30/7/1907 to the "Familie Fritz Schumacher" in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA. I am just guessing, but I think the older couple is Jean Pierre Sibenaler and wife Katharina Schumacher. If this is accurate, the other couples could be their childern and wives - Peter Sibenaler (and his wife, Helena Kirch) and Nicholas Sibenaler and his wife. My great-grandfather was Frederick (Fritz) Schumacher (b. 1837 in Greiveldange. His sister is Katharina Schumacher (b 1839 in Greiveldange). Fritz was the oldest son that reportedly started out to be a preist, but emmigrated from Luxembourg in 1862 or 1865. If anyone is interested in copies of the photos or can provide additional information on the descendants of Frederick's father, Nicholas E. Schumacher (b. 1799) or Frederick's siblings (Katharina, Elisabeth, Nicholas and Helena), please contact me. Richard Schumacher concretemasonry@yahoo.com Notify Administrator about this message?
