Attention all of you genealogists working on Luxembourg and Belgic-Luxembourg families. If you have not yet heard of the Luxembourg American Cultural Society (LACS) check out their website at www.luxamculturalsociety.org. The LACS is an international membership organization promoting preservation of Luxembourg heritage, culture and genealogy from throughout the US and fostering continued relationships between the people of Luxembourg and the US. The LACS is officially sanctioned by Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture as the clearing house for all things Luxembourgish in the US. The LACS has an outstanding, quarterly newsletter and will be opening a large research center in Belgium, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin on March 1, 2008. The society has the largest collection of practical, Luxembourg genealogy materials in the US. The society also sponsors an annual Luxembourg Heritage weekend during the second full weekend of August in Belgium, Wisconsin about 40 minutes north of Milwaukee. The heritage weekend includes a culture tour of the Luxembourg sites in Ozaukee County, an international Luxembourg American Cultural Conference, the annual Luxembourg Fest of Belgium, Wisconsin and many other unique events.
