My grandfather's brother was
Edward Hentges.

He fought in WWI for the USA. When he reported for duty, they spelled his name Hinges. His name was Edward Hinges since.

After the war, he traveled to Luxembourg, and his first cousin was burgermeister.

My grandfather's name was George Nicholas Hentges (Edward's brother).
His father was Nicholas Adam Hentges, born in Luxembourg in 1846.
He died in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, USA in 1916.

I believe Nicholas' father's name was Adam Hentges.
