Looking for SCHWARTZ and SCHWACHTGEN ancestors

I have found the obituary my great great grandfather, John SCHWARTZ who was born in 1829 in Luxembourg. He and his brothers were tailors. He went to Paris for one year before coming to the US in about 1850. According to the obituary he lived in St. Paul, MN for a year and then 2 years in Hartford, Conn. before settling in Decatur, IL where he married Margarette SCHWACHTGEN in November of 1859. She was also born in Luxembourg, June 24, 1835. I have been told that I will not be able to trace them back to Luxembourg unless I know what city and cannon they are from. I found the naturalization papers for John but it again just says he was born in Luxembourg, Germany. I've been told the SCHWACHTGEN is also a very common name in Luxembourg, although I have not been able to find the surname on any of the message boards. Could anyone give me a phonetic pronounciation of SCHWACHTGEN? I would appreciate any help or ideas on how to proceed. Thanks, Cheryl
