It is possible that you don't find them on the lists because they were stow-aways. My great-great-grandfather, Phillip Krell (related to the Krells of Newburg, WI) came over from Germany. He had his friends pack him in a barrel and after the ship was a days journey out to sea, they let him out. He then worked his passage over on the ship. P.S. I have corresponded with your mom in the past. Helpful lady!
