I need to remind you that we are talking about 2 different Johann Michael Lutzes. The one in my line was already in America when the Phoenix arrived in 1752. He had been here at least 22 years by then. My Johann Michael was born in the Neckar Valley area of Württemberg, Germany, about 1689 (+ or -). The one to which you refer may well have been born in Switzerland. "Lutz" is a very common German name and many families contained a "Johann Michael".
Unfortunately, I have yet to confirm the actual family from which my ancestor originated, as well as not knowing the date & ship of his arrival sometime between 1720 and 1728.
