Maybe someday we will find a link connecting all these Lutz's. A know of at least one other Wuerttemberg village named Sersheim that had many Lutz's going back to the 1500s - but there is no known connection between them and my Lutz's as well. Because Gruenmettstetten was located so close to the border with Hohenzollern, many of the same family names can be found on both sides. One name was Pfister. They came to Gruenmettstetten from Gruol, but the Pfister name can be found in many villages in northern Hohenzollern.
