Three Fairfield County Men are Liberated
Lancaster, May 21 - Among prisoners liberated from German prison camps were Pfc. Robert H. Lutz, 23, and Pfc. Scott R. Reinschield, 21, both of Lancaster, and S/Sgt. Harry D. Coffman, Carroll.
The two Lancaster soldiers were both held at Stalag 7 A in Germany. Pfc. Lutz is being returned to the United States, the War Department advised his wife, Mrs. Mildred Lutz. Pfc. Reinschield, a paratrooper, wrote Lancaster relatives he was liberated April 30 and at the time he wrote the letter was staying in a modern apartment in Munich with other Americans.
S/Sgt. Coffman was last reported held at Stalag 17 near Krems, Germany, which was bellieved taken by the Russian Army early in April. He was a top turret gunner on a B-24 Liberator and was reported missing in action April 23, 1944, on a mission from a base in Italy.
