Hi Wanda,

I have been researching my family history and I have found the name being spelled as Luttrell, Littrell, Literal & Litteral. I am not quite for sure why, but I have heard that a lot of times names where changed once they came to America or when birth certificates were created. My family has had an ongoing disagreement for years as to how the name is spelled. I have an uncle who spells his different from his brothers because his different on his birth certificate. My grandmother's name has been spelled 2 different ways on documents. I think the history behind the research that you do can be pretty exciting.
Good luck!
