Juanita, Thanks for checking your files for Perlina Luttrell. Is the James Foley you mentioned from the Thomas Folie/Foley-Martha Bryant Foley-Burton line of Stafford Co., VA?I have 4 sons for them, Bryant, Thomas, John and Richard, all born between ca 1673-1685. No James, however, at this early of a period. Perhaps you have an unknown child of Thomas and Martha. My earliest documented Foley ancestor is Moses Foley, born ca 1735 in VA and died on October 25, 1823 in Barbourville, Knox Co., KY.In his adult years he resided on Meadow Creek, a tributary of the New River in what was then Montgomery Co., VA. He became a Baptist minister after his service in the Revolutionary War and is documented to have played an important role in the spread of this denomination in SW VA and SE KY. The major mystery for researchers of this line is determination of the father of this Moses Foley. Many believe that he came from the Thomas-Martha line and I tend to agree. It is said that a James Foley was his father and he named his second son James. What role did this James Foley play in your line?Do you have additional information on him?
I will let you know if I find anything new of Perlina that may help place her in the KY Luttrell line. Thanks again for your help. Teri
