My former father-in-law always claimed to be a descendant of Martin Luther. I would like to find out if this is true as I have a daughter and two grandchildren who would appreciate this information. He has been dead for about 10 years so I have only sketchy information.

His name: Richard Elmer Trimble b. approx. 1919 near Pittsburgh PA possibly Greensburg
Mother: Ella Luther
Father: Elmer Trimble
Sister: Ruth Trimble Chapin
Sister: Ella Mae Trimble (? married name)

Does anyone have information about this family in Western Pennsylvania? My former husband is deceased (Thomas M. Trimble b. near Pittsburgh PA 1946) but he has a brother Richard Elmer Trimble, Jr. b. approx. 1935 near Pittsburgh PA who I believe may be the one of the only living relatives of this family.
