According to the 1880 census, George W. Lusk listed his birthplace as Wisconsin. However, his son listed George W.'s birthplace as Canada and his military records list it as Illinois. In the 1880 census, George listed Mass. as the birthplace of his father and Scotland as the birthplace of his mother! I do not have the names of George's parents yet and will have to do more census, etc. research. I live in Mass. and Lusk is not a common name here. If I can trace George's family here, it will hopefully be easier to do some local research! Part of the problem is the boundaries for Canada, Illinois and Wisconsin were not set at the time of George's birth so its possible that he was born in an area that was originally Canada but became Wisonsin or vice versa. It does make things interesting if not downright difficult! If I find anything more, I'll let you know.
