I do not have the Lusk Surname;but I do have
A book in which it talks about Capt. Felix G. Lusk.He was one of the leading members of the Arkansas Bar,and a Farmer. He was Sevier Co., 1829 and was the son of Maurice R. Lusk and Jane Matthews. Maurice was Buncombe Co., N.C.,in 1801,and his wife in Sevier Co., 1807. they were married in latter Co.and in 1826 moved to Newmarket Al.
where the mother died in 1840.In 1842 Mr.Lusk remarried and then moved to Lewisburg ,AR.,
then 1846 moved to Malvern,AR. where both died in 1846.Maurice was a shoemaker by trade
and was very interested in military matters, being a Capt. in the militia in AL.
Maurice was the son of Joseph Lusk,of Irish descent, who fought in the Revolution with Gen. Marion;and Joseph Lusk's father was John Lusk, one of seven brothers who came to Ireland to America .The brothers seperated
at Jamestown,VA. each going to a different state.Jeremiah Matthews, the maternal grandfather of Capt.Felix G.Lusk, was of Irish descent and born in Virginia. He was a courier
during the Revolution under Gen. Marion, and afterward settled in Tn.,where he resided for a great many years ,and was one of the pioneers of Sevier Co. ( then the story goes on talking more about felix if any one wants the rest they can e-mail me)Hope this helps someone in their research.
