My great-grandparents, Joseph and Grace (Hampton) Lusk, were from County Down, near the city of Banbridge, village of Seapatrick.I have seen many references to Lusks in Co. Antrim.I know that my Joseph's father owned a farm, which Joseph had to return to Ireland to sell in the 1890s.He and his family and 5 sisters came to America in 1888.Parents were John and Rachel (Corry) Lusk.
I can also tell you that they were avid Orangemen (Loyalists); yet the name derives from the town of Lusk just a few miles north of Dublin.I've been there, it's a very small quaint and poor village, nothing remarkable at all; it dates to 5th century A.D.The name Lusk is from lusca, which is a Scandinavian word for "cave" or "cave dweller".So we probably have Viking roots.
That's all I can offer you, other than to say you're working the right locations.
