Hon. Robert Martin Lusk
Robert M. Lusk became a person of interest to me while researching my "Burton" background.Family tradition held:M.D.L. Burton married H.L.J. King, daughter of Henry B. King & Elizabeth H. Johnston.
As it turns out, Johnston was her name from her first marriage to Robert Martin Johnston. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Hughes Huff.
A daughter from the marriage of Robert M. & Elizabeth H. Johnston was named "Polina."
Robert Martin Lusk is the son of Polina (Johnston) Lusk.
The source of the above information is the J.H. King Memoirs which can be accessed at:
www.hiddenancestors.com/titustx/jhking.htm.
Some time later I uncovered the Family Bible records of Elizabeth Hughes Huff - Johnston - King.

OBITUARY:
Departed this life 10th inst (Aug.) 1873.Henry B. King, at the age of fifty two years, after much suffering with cancer for over twelve months.May God proper, bless with good health and long life, the friends and neighbors who attended him so faithfully the three or four last months of his illness.Such disinterested kindness could not be rewarded with dollars of earth.
I and this brother were raised up side by side - walked together near fifty years, and were never separated but for a month or two at a time. Most all my friends are buried now; and I can say that yonder at Elliott's Chapel lies a friend that never deceived me.Henry never told me a lie.And if he was ever angry with me I never knew it.I may have hurt his feelings - doubtless have, but I know that in his heart, he was never angry with me.Rest thee, my brother!Thine obituary will be read and understood much better in the next world than in this.J. H. KING.
Two later date notations, in ink, one above and one below the phrase "Written by J. H. King"
Above: "Deceased Aug 10th A.D. 1873"
Below: "Henry B. King, born Nov 8th 1820"

*Verification on "Polena" as stated in the J.H. King Memoirs":
1880 U.S. Census - Morris County Texas -
Household #150D 29 94 24:
James H. Johnston - brother to"Polena" - the children of Elizabeth H. (Huff) Johnston (as named in the J.H. King Memoirs) has named his eldest child - (age 20) - "Polena"*: she becomes the wife of Albert Curlee* of Tishomingo Oklahoma. This is the same James H. Johnston that family M. D. L. Burton was living with twenty years earlier in the 1860 U.S. census. It is spelled "Polina" on her tombstone.
