I have been researching my genealogy for the past 25 years and I am the first to say that "I have made mistakes" or not followed through in researching a topic before putting it down on paper ...which might get copied...for regardless what some folks say..you are never "done" researching a family line. There is always more info to uncover but it take time and effort.
I do feel bad when someone quotes my work (regardless if I get credit) that is outdated and later I uncover more truth and I can't get the old data corrected.
There's a bunch of "Lusk" who settled right around our Samuel Lusk Sr/Jr. who ARE NOT closely related. Our line comes directly down from CT. into VA.
I sometimes have spent years reseaching a bloodline group only to prove they "don't belone to my ancestors" but one needs to sort and separate them in order to discover the line I'm researching.I had to do this with my Wheeler line...had 4 brothers who migrated together and named their children with all the same common names...had to prove who was who just to separate my direct line.
Guess it all part of the game.Jim
