Thanks again for replying again.
I did check with Gil and Kevin, and Kevin, bless his heart, answered your post here, so.
Here is what I have about John C - and you will see why I am so curious about him.I'll do some looking around in Kansas now-
Internet sources say he is a son of Samuel Lusk and Sarah Bailey.
James Carver says he was born 1806. However James Carver also says that Sam and Sarah only had 3 children before the War of 1812, and that these children were John, Polly and Martha. That leaves my Andrew out of the picture. However, James Carver is the descendant of Polly, and often the older children preserve more memories than the younger ones do - so maybe he is right.
At any rate, John is presumably one of the older boys in the 1820 census - but from then on I can find no trace of him.
Unless he is Andrew John.??? [Your information makes it clear that he was NOT Andrew John.]
There are 17 John Lusks in the 1830 census index at Ancestry.com, 1 Lush, and 2 Lusts.
Alabama, Jackson 80
Illinois, Madison 185 (John T)
Indiana, Decatur 39
Kentucky, Garrard 213
Meade 271
Nelson 115
New York, Ontario, Victor 215
Orange, Goshen 282 (John J)
Wayne, Arcada 76
Ohio, Butler, Oxford 117 (John N)
Farifield, Clear Creek 274 (Lust)
Pennsylvania, Allegheny, Fargess? 290
Pittsburg, S. Ward 12
Beaver, N. Beaver 188
Philadelphia, Moyamensing 85 (Lush)
South Carolina, Anderson 110
Union 202
Tennessee, Smith 41
Sullivan 13 (John L)
Lincoln 73 (Lust)
You will notice that there are no Virginia Lusks although there was a John C Lusk in Tazewell County for that year. That is the fun of these indexes - you can never be sure they have included everything!
Another possibility is that he may be the son of David and Chloe - John C (Jehu C) Lusk.
A third possibility is that he is related to the Auglaize Co. Lusks.
"Concerning "Jehu" Lusk: There is some evidence that Jehu might have been John C. Lusk, a younger brother of Charles & William Lusk. There was a John C. Lusk who married a Polly Corder on Oct 21, 1819 in Tazewell, VA moved to Augliaze county, Ohio with the family, and then moved to Missouri with his brother Charles. Charles F. Lusk, of Lima, Ohio, found land records in Warsaw, Benton county, Missouri which would be a good person to contact." (signed) Barbara - but I don't know Barbara-who or where I got this. : - ( [I think it was Barbara Boyce]
Another support for the Auglaize thesis is that there are Corders in Auglaize County as well as Lusks and Runyons.
Here are the records I do have about John Lusk, whoever he is:
[Note - names assigned to children on pre-1850 censuses assume the Tazewell John is identical with the Missouri John - this is just an assumption]
John Lusk married Polly Corder on 21 Oct 1819 in Tazewell Co., VA.

Anyway, happy holidays -
