JAMES JOHN LUSK, 82, of Jackson, died Saturday, May 5, 2007, at Jackson Good Samaritan Center.
Born Oct. 27, 1924, in Des Moines Township, Jackson County, he was the son of Charlie and Susie Chonko Lusk. He married Aldean Shover on June 22, 1948, in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Jackson.
He received his education at a country school in Des Moines Township. After his education, he worked on the family farm. He served in U.S. Army with the 132nd Infantry during World War II, and was in the battle of Luzon in the Philippines and later stationed with the occupation forces in Japan. After marriage, they made their home on the home place in Des Moines Township. In 1979, they moved to Jackson. He was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, Jackson. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and VFW Post 900.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Dennis Lusk, LeCenter, Donald (Laurie) Lusk, Verona, Wis., and Gary (Gabby) Lusk, Jackson; one daughter, Shawn (Wade) Warntjes, Sioux Falls, S.D; two brothers, George Lusk and Charlie (Margie) Lusk, all of Jackson; three sisters, Irene Larson, Pine City, Gladys Zyzda, Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, and Mary Larson, Bloomington; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m., at Osterberg Funeral Home, Jackson, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Good Shepherd, Jackson.
The service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Good Shepherd, Jackson, with the Rev. Peter Schuster officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Jackson.
