Well, this is really exciting!
I was a little confused at first about which Jonathan you were referring to because I always thought of the Jonathan who married Delphia McLain as John Riley and his father as Jonathan. No matter.
It sounds as though you're saying that Jonathan Riley was the one who was full-blooded Native American - and that he was adopted by Jonathan B and Nancy Conner. Is that it? I had assumed that he was adopted after his parents split up and his father died (because of the guardianship papers in Wayne County). It would really be something if Jonathan and Nancy had in fact adopted him - I would really like to hear more about this. (We don't have many stories at all about this generation - only that my Great Great Grandmother was so hungry during the Civil War that she asked Jonathan B if they could please, at least, eat the tail of the pig.) GGGrand always stayed in touch with her half-sister, but she lost contact with Jonathan Riley.
If Jonathan Riley were Cherokee, there's a lot of information out there, but considering the location, it's more likely that he was Shawnee or something else - and I haven't seen much about them.
I will send you all I've got on Jonathan Riley, but I was so excited I had to answer IMMEDIATELY. I would like to know EVERYTHING, especially the family stories.
Can't wait to hear from you again.
