Lusardi's of Newark, NJ
My grandfather was Louis Henry Lusardi, born on 4 July 1896 in Plainfield, NJ.His father Enrico Lusardi supposedly died in Fall River, Massachusetts shortly before his birth.Where do I look to determine exact place and date of death? Also with at least 15 cemetaries in Fall River, how can I discover in which he is burried?
Enrico Lusardi was married to Louise/Louisa Lusardi (same maiden name and supposed to not be related, though I am skeptical). They were from Monte Souso, Northern Italy, but I cannot find it in my atlas, so it must be very small.Family tradition holds that they spoke French, Italian and German, so it must be very near the border.Does anyone know of this town?
There is a photo of Enrico in full military dress which was supposed to be when he was in the Swiss Guard. How might this information be verified?
Does anyone know what industry or other attraction brought so many Italian immigrants to Fall River?Having checked the Ellis Island records and finding no evidence of my ancestor's arrival, are there other ports of entry/passenger records I should check?
Any information to help with research into my Lusardi ancestors will be appreciated. And if there are any distant relatives out there, I would be delighted to hear from you.
