There is a new book, "The Lurie Legacy" by Neil Rosenstein. Many ancient rabbinical connections & stories (some of which may be accurate). Luria is a common variation. Also "modernized" to Lorie. A DNA project is also ongoing in the Luria name (which interests me because my male line DNA is very close, although the name has not been in my family, at least in the last several hundred years).
