In 1974 my husband and I received a letter from Major Michael Stanley Ellison Lupton, whose mother was Carmen Lupton of Surrey, England. ( in connection with our newsletter The Luptonian)His address at the end of that year was Potter's House in Hout Bay, Cape Province. He was going to assist South African Airways in organizing tours of South Africa in 1975. If this was one of your grandfathers, perhaps they might have some info on him in their files. This particular man was very interested in genealogy. When he wrote to us he
was "on manoeuvres " with his unit, H.Q. 7 S.A. Division. perhaps military has some info as to why he was in Africa other than being in the military.
