The Cemetery records for Anderson Cemetery in Christian Co, IL said Ellis died 20 May 1873 Christian Co, IL.
The American Quaker records show Eliis was dismissed from the Quaker Church for marrying contrary to Church policy
8 June 1820 Hampshire Co, VA/WV.
He then must have been married shortly before 8 June 1820.
Have you seen any documents on him?
I have never seen a marriage record for him telling his wife's name, it has been said his wife may have been a Ruth COOPER, we have never found any document for her name.
Ellis LUPTON's daughter was my 2nd great-grandmother Ruth (LUPTON)who married Joseph CHESSHIRE.
