I am researching my Great Grandfather Frederich H. Luning born in Hanover Germany in Feb. 1841 I believe he may have lived possibly in the area known as Austria however this is not known for sure. He was a Cabinet Maker and came to New York sometime prior to 1866.
On the boat to New York he met and later married Margarett W. Jansen born April 1840 in Hamburg Germany. They lived at 421 First Ave in NY(Manhatten)at least in 1874 when my Grandfather Henry A. Luning was born as the 6th child. From Census records I have the following children born to them:
Sophie 1866
Augusta 1868
Charles 1870
George 1872
Henry A. 5 MAY 1874
Edward C. Oct 1876
There may be more, or one may have died young
In 1900 Frederich lived in Mount Vernon New York on Fulton Ave.
I am seeking Information on both Margarett and Frederich for parents in Germany as well as ship and passenger information. Ship was not listed on Naturalization papers.
Frederich came to U.S. with other greatgrandfather August Munder.
Any information greatly appreciated.
