Carrie Ruby (Lunde) Ostrander, 94, lifelong resident of Duluth, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on April 7, 2008.
Carrie Ruby (Lunde) Ostrander, 94, lifelong resident of Duluth, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on April 7, 2008. She was born in Duluth on Nov. 7, 1913, to Nils and Berta Lunde. Carrie graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1932 and was a charter member of Kenwood Lutheran Church. She worked for Standard Oil, the Aftenro Home and the Duluth Superior Transit Co. Carrie was active in a variety of clubs and community affairs as a resident in Kenwood and Pequaywan Lake. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Ostrander; parents; brothers, Frank and Roy; infant grandson, Cale Leif Lunde; and infant great-grandson, Mason David Stokes. Carrie is survived by her children, Jerry (Debbie) Ostrander of Florida, Marcia (Dale) Lunde and Karen (Jack Larson) Copt, both of Duluth; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Ostrander and Dora Anderson; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. A special thanks to St. Luke's Hospital and Edgewood Vista for their care and compassion. She will be truly missed by family and friends from Kenwood where she and Alex raised their family and friends at Pequaywan Lake where she enjoyed 40+ years of retirement.
