Hi,
This is not much, but I tried to search the site http://www.hist.uib.no/arkivverket
I found a E.G. Lunde, male, aged 19, born in Norway, in the 1880 census of Minnesota (Vineland, Polk co). No possible hit in Dakota that year.
Are you sure about the spelling of Malinda's surname? I found none with that spelling in Minnesota in that census. There are several Hauske though (including a 20-year-old female called M.L.Hauske in Halstead, Polk co).No possible hit on Houske or Hauske in Dakota that year either.
Hope that this might give something...
Good luck, Vibeke
