"LUNDIE" of St.Andrews, Jamaica
Posted by: David Townsend Date: November 08, 2001 at 21:15:50

I'm very curious as to whether or not there is any connection between "Lunde" and "Lundie"?

I have relatives from Jamaica prior to 1920 who are of the name "Lundie".

William H. Lundie was a Plantation owner there. He would have been my Great Uncle if he were alive. He came to Statin Island, New York about 1907 with my Great Grandmother, Mary (Lundie)Ledward and settled her there, then went back to Jamaica, and possibly sold his Plantation and moved to New York. I am researching both "Lundie" and "Ledward" of Jamaica prior to New York migration.

Any ideals on the Name?
