Lunas & de Lunas-Antonio, Domingo, Jose Enrique & more
Hi all. I know I am a Johnny-come-lately; however, I have plenty of Luna and de Luna in my background. I had not started looking for my of them yet, have found many due to Fray Angelico Chavez's book, "Origins of New Mexico Families". I do not have too many dates to know how far back they all go, but I have about 25 de Luna and 18 Luna. Of the Luna name, I have some [6] in the early 1800s, and 1700s [4], however, I have many unknown dates, seven. As for the de Luna name, 14 unknown eras, and 11 in the 1700s. Nothing in the 1800s. I assume the reason for that is that many dropped the "de" in favor of just the Luna. If any one can help, please let me know how. One of the de Luna was married into the Pelaez and Robledo families, while others of the de Luna were married to Pino and Gabaldon families. By the way, that Gabaldon family is the same that our cousin Guy Galbaldon, the WWII hero was from, or so another cousin [Perez] and my father said. I also have Luna that married Aguilar, Aguirre, Apodaca, Aragon, Baca,Chavez and Duran y Chavez, Garcia, Garcia Jurado, Montano, Quintana, Romero, Sarracino, Sena, Torres, Vallejo, and Yturrieta. The majority of the two families stayed in close relations to the Baca, Duran y Chavez and Chavez families. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mil gracias.
