I think that the T. A. Lumsden I was looking for was Thomas Arthur Lumsden born June Q 1908 in Belford area, Northumberland and he worked as a stonemason / bricklayer. My husband’s grandfather, James Knox, married Mary Johnson and I know that T. A. Lumsden worked for the Johnson family.
In the 1960s an elderly lady (Thomasin Lumsden) used to visit my husband’s aunt in Alnwick. No-one seems to know much about her and there aren’t many people left to ask. I got the feeling that she was a friend of the Knox family rather than a relative.
Does your family have any connection with the Belford or Alnwick area ? I also have a Wilson and Knox connected through marriage
