I have a lot of information on James Fife Lumsden of Va. (1/17/1841 - 9/24/1945) I am the great granddaughter of his sister, Rebecca Lumsden Hetfield. I have been told he was the Post Master of Mine Run, Va. My cousin showed me the house he lived in before he died (possibly owned by his daughter, Nellie Smith Payne (Mrs. John T. Payne), but I do not know the address. It is in Mine Run, Va. I have a magazine article from the Confederate Veteran, July/Aug 1990, and it has a lot of direct quotes from a previous interview with Fife. This article also says he was Post Master at Mine Run.
