In searching the 1861 Census records for Ontario I found the listing for the children of John Lumsden and Ann Leach. John Lumsden is not listed on the census, so it is not known if he was away or deceased. Ann Leach died in 1852. The eldest son Thomas was married (Jane McCreary) and they had a daughter Elizabeth (aged 1). Elizabeth was my Great-Grandmother. Thomas and his wife were listed separately from his siblings as they had their own residence.

The siblings were all listed together, so it is presumed that they were living in the family home. The siblings were: William (aged 20), George (aged 19), Margaret (aged 18), Elizabeth (aged 17) and Annie(aged 10).
