Fife Lumsdens late 1700s-early 1800s .. so far

hi listers,
i'm wondering if anyone is familiar with the Fife Lumsdens from around the Kettle & Falkirk areas.

i have a John Lumsden b.c.1798 .. with no parents .. you'll all know how it is .. one of those ancestors that doesn't so much get born as just materialises! they have a habit of doing that :-/

Anyway, i've spotted likely parents in Fife:
a John Lumsden/Lumsdane and his wife Jean/Jane Braid [also spelt Bred, Bread, Brade]
Does anyone know this pair?
They had a son John born in 1798. My problem is, are their son and our John one and the same individual? it's proving a very difficult case to crack

i have a copy of hte parents wedding lines and birth lines of John + all his siblings [those i've found to date] , but am no nearer to proving or disproving them as being our John's flesh and blood.

if anyone has studied this family at all and has any knowledge of the son John and who he may have married and/or his choice of occupation, i'd be delighted to hear from you .. even if it demolishes all ideas of their being the right family. even bad news can be a step forward if you get my meaning :-)

thanks for taking hte time to read my plea

le durachd :-)
fionnghal
