Hi Caragh:
I always thought the Lumsdens came from Ireland.
After doing some digging, I have found that "my"family of
Lumsdens were from Aberdeen area of Scotland. They supported Bonnie Prince Charlie and after the Battle of Culloden in 1745, they came to Wexford Co. Ireland.
They worked either in the armed services or for the Old East Inia Service after Culloden.
