Hi Graham We went to Hamilton/Burlington Beach in the summers(from 1938 to 1963). I recall your family very well. I received from Frances Lumsden Swann a copy of a letter written by Rev. William Lumsden to George Lumsden (his son). This letter was written in 1880. I gave the original back to Frances in the 1970's. Arthur Disraeli Lumsden and Frances Lumsden, I believe, were brother and sister. In the letter William Lumsden wrote, he tells about his heritage. If you would like a copy, I would be most happy to send you one. I have been searching for the spouses of William Lumsden and Alexander Lumsden for a long time. Alexander's father was George Lumsden (don't know spouse). I know from the letter that William Lumsden,(father of John Lumsden) was buried in St. Selskar's English Church cemetry in Wexford, Ireland. The Battle of Culloden, in 1745 sealed the fate of the Lumsdens. They were stauch supporters of Bonnie Prince Charlie. After the '45 they were in the service of the Old East India Service. After the '45 they also left Scotland.
