Greetings,
I am a descendant of LUMSDENs in Scotland and am looking for others who may be researching my line.
The earliest Ancestor I know of is Jeremiah Lumsden who was a shoemaker. He married (1) Jean SMART Feb 23, 1766. She died in 1767. He married (2) Mary ROBERTSON about whom I have no additional information.
His children were:
By Marr 1 : James LUMSDEN bapt. July 1, 1767 in Banff.
By Marr 2 : Jeremiah LUMSDEN b. Oct 11, 1772 in Gamrie
Kathrine LUMSDEN bapt. June 18, 1771 in Gamrie
Alexander LUMSDEN b. Nov 11, 1775 in Gamrie
Margaret LUMSDEN B. 1777 in Gamrie
Robert LUMSDEN b. Sept 16, 1780 in Down.
The above mentioned Robert LUMSDEN is my next direct ancestor. He married Ann DUFFUS in Gamrie Nov 30, 1822. He had only one child:
James LUMSDEN b. Sept 30, 1823
James LUMSDEN (above mentioned) married Sophia FRASER in 1847 and had 7 children:
Sophia LUMSDEN b. May 20, 1849 in Glasgow
Ann Duffas LUMSDEN b. Feb 15, 1851 in Gorbals
Robert LUMSDEN b. 21 Nov 1853 in Gorbals
James LUMSDEN B. Sept 14, 1854 in Glasgow
Daniel Fraser LUMSDEN b. 1856 in Glasgow
Any information anyone has on the above is greatly appreciated. I'd love to hear from anyone researching the same people.
