Ann Phillips Lumsden married William Barron in 1830 on the family estate "Belhavie".
The Lumsden family is very old - to 1099 when Edgar, King of Scotland "gave to the Priory of Druham [Durham?], certain mansions, scilicet Aldecombus, Lumsden. The subsequent history is well-recorded, I'm told, but not by me.
The research was done by my now-deceased cousin Barron Proctor of Ossining N.Y., who died shortly before the family history of both Lumsdens and Barrons was ready for publishing. His family had, at that time, no interest in their forebears, and everything sits - somewhere.
Any help would be much appreciated.
