Bethany was the daughter of William Luker and Lurana/ Luraney last name unknown but most likely Martin. Bethany's sister Hepzibeth was my 3rd grandmother.

Known children:
Child 1: Rufus Morgan Love married Martha Moseley Aug 13, 1840 in Henry County, GA.
Martha Moseley was daughter of another first settler in Henry County, Silas Moseley and Nancy Yarbrough.
Child 2: William b. 1823
Child 4: Susannah "Susan" who was b. 2-10-1826. The book says that "we know from family tradition that Susan married and moved to Texas and owned a lot of West Texas land. The Chambers Co., AL, records were burned so we do not know who she m."

Child 6: Mary, b. abt. 1831

We locate James and Bethany Luker Love:
•September 27, 1813 near Maryville, Blount Co., TN; bought a coat for $15.00 from estate of Francis Orr. TN Blount Co. Ellijay Middle Cherokee Settlement: on Ellejoy Creek of Little Rvr now Marysville
•1818 and 1819, James sold property in Blount Co., TN.
•7-17-1823 to 5-7-1825 as a Major 109 Battalion (Henry Co.) GA., Militia. On 5-7-1825, he was made Col. 49 Regiment (Henry Co., GA), Militian and served until 1830.
•March session of 1827 court, 3-5-1827. Colonel James Love has built a good bridge across the Cotton Indian River at Moseley's Mill.
He was elected 1-18-1836 to Capt. 85 Regiment Henry Mounted Riflemen (Henry Co., GA.) James was elected Sheriff the 1832/3 and 1838/9 terms.
•He was also elected to the House of Representatives in 1835.
•In 1843 James and the majority of his family moved to Chambers Co., AL.
•Bethany died in 1849; James m. Harriett Williams, 12-14-1851. Harriett was the mother of the wife of William Love, one of James' sons.
