Alex, I know your message is and old one. I have only recently taken up the task of searching after a number of speed bumps I was hitting. I have Hermann Bernard and Herman Bernard jr. and many others with the Bernard or Bernhard in the name. My Hermann Bernard came from or at least passed through the village of Burlage don't know if it was Alt or Nu but that is where they are from. I also now know the surname of his wife which was Kluver also from the area. They also gave the area as Hanover on some reports. Of course as I have mentioned before they settled in Galt, Iowa for a few years before moving on to SD. I find that this is exciting all over again now that I took a couple of years away from it. Judy
