Geoff, there are Luddens of Dutch, German, Irish and English descent. There is one identified irish line and I
am sure other irish lines as yet unidentified. The English
line is said to be sdescended from the Planter, James Ludden and a book has been written about that line. My father told me my irish line of Ludden's came to Ireland
with the Normans. He had researched this fact with Father
Paul Ludden, in Ireland. He also said the entire Ludden
ancestry is in the hands of cousin Paul. Have not been able to locate him myself. Paul also told dad all Luddens
are related to each other. Sure would like to confirm that. I have my line back to my gt. gt. gr. parents and am
most happy to share it. Take care, Dee
