The Ludden Name: Variant spellings.

According to The Dictionary of Irish Family
Names, Ludden was originally:
O Loideain-found in Mayo and Galway:
then its variants were:
Leyden, Liddane, Liddon, Lyden, Lydon, Lydden, Ludden, O'Lotain
Liddanes were peculiar to Co. Clare and Leydens in Sligo and Clare.

This is of course, strictly the irish version of the name. Hope this helps someone with their search.

Happy hunting folks.
