Hi Michelle,
I am desperately seeking information on my father's side of the family.
Would you please check with your father-in-law, Harry Luckett, to see if he is at all related to the following.I obtained thisinformation from the Washington, D.C. Census 1880 Soundex L230:
Luckett, William born in Virginia
Luckett, Catherine Wife age 32 born in D.C.
Luckett, HarrySonage 15born in D.C.
Luckett, Arthur Sonage 8born in Va.
Luckett,Teresa Daughter Age6 born D.C.
Luckett, William, Jr. SonAge2bornD.C.
I have found the above William Luckett, Sr. to be my great great grandfather.
Arthur Luckett was my grandfather.
Is your father-in-law a missing link to my family line?
My family was living in D.C. in 1880.
My grandfather, Arthur, lived at 21 N Street, S.E. Washington, D.C. He died in 1929 and was buried at Harmony Cemetary.
His wife was Fannie Carter.
Their children were Frances, William, Ruth, Arthur, Dorothy, Harry, Edward, Earl, Grace, Oscar and Daniel.Daniel is the only one living today. He is in his 80's.
They lived in D.C. doing the same time of Edith Luckett who was the mother of Nancy Reagan.
Nancy Reagan was believed to be related to the sisters where the old baby skeleton was found in their home. This was aired on Fox 5 TV News around the last week in April, 2001. I talked to Robert at Fox 5 (202 895-3000). He said I could receive the TV Video and a transcript of the show for about $90.00.I do not have that kind of money to spend, even tho I would sure like to have a copy of it.I was hoping it was printed in the newspaper and someone had a copy of the newspaper. But, I don't know that it was posted in the newspaper.
Since we, your father-in-law, Edith Luckett and my father lived in the Washington
Metropolitan Area. I do believe we link together somehow or another.
My father, Arthur, was born in Washington, D.C. in 1898 and died in 1974.He had cancer. It seem to run in the Luckett Family.
Would you please talk to your hursband, father-in-law and other members of your Luckett family and share with me your family tree.
Since we live so close I am willing to meet with you in person.I live in Landover,
Maryland.
Thanking you kindly in advance.
A distant cousin-in-law.
Blanche,
