Lucier becomes Luchia then Lucha

I have recently the that my grandmother's family of Lucha was, two generation back, Lucia and then two more generations back it was Lucier. The family apparently came to America landing in Ontario, Canada. After arriving in Canada the name Lucier was misspelled so often, that they finally gave in and changed the spelling Luchia. Then later down my line it was further corrupted to Lucha.

The oldest generation back I have gotten on this line is: William Charles Luchia and his wife Katherine. They had a son, Charles William Luchia born May 24, 1866 at Blenheim, Ontario. There were apparently two other sons, Albert and Alonzo.

Does anyone have a connection?
