Greetings to a newfound cousin! We share Lucey and Lynch ancestors in Ballyvourney. My GGM was Ellen Lynch, b 24 Jun 1838 (in Ballyvourney or Inchigheelagh). Parents were Jeremiah Lynch and Catherine Buckley. Jeremiah was the son of Daniel Lynch and Margaret Lucey; Catherine the daughter of John Buckley and Margaret Lynch. Thus I have Lynch ancestry thru two lines!
Undoubtedly there's a connection...let me know about your Lynches and Luceys...and hopefully you will discover a treasure trove of info in Ireland. I was there in 1995...was in the Inchigeelagh church where my GGGparents, Jeremiah Sweeney and Mary Cronin, were married in 1823. Quite an experience! Can't wait to hear from you!
